Understanding cervical cancer
The cervix (i.e. part of the female reproductive system) is a form of cancer that affects a slow-growing tumor almost always due to an infection of human papilloma virus. The factors predisposing others are early sexual intercourse, have multiple sexual partners, prolonged use of oral contraceptives, infection by sexually transmitted diseases and smoking. Pap smears, screening test for the detection of cervical cancer, recommend sexually active women. Confirm the diagnosis colposcopy shock or cone is tissue biopsy of cervical cancer.
