I went to my primary physician this morning & she perscribed me borth control to regulate my periods. She just did an external check up & everything seemed fine. I told her all my symptoms & she told me to just come back in for my appointment for my pap with the obgyn on the 26th to see if everything is normal internally. God willing my pap will be normal.

Im 16. I’ve been sexually active since i was 14. About a year ago i noticed a change in the way my discharge smelled so i asked my mom to make me a doctor appointment. I dont live with her & im not sure what happened but i never ended up going. I’ve never had a pap smear before & i feel so dumb for not having one cuz i have had a lot of unprotected sex. So i got off my period & 10 days later i started bleeding. This was wierd to me cuz i’ve never bled between periods before. Today i’ve been bleeding for 9 days now & even though i’ve known something was wrong the whole time my mom is finally on the same page & also believes there is something wrong. I havent had sex in about 5 months but the last few times i did have sex it would hurt like this sharp pain. & i get dizzy spells sometimes where i will black out but be concious still just for a few seconds. There are some other symptoms too like back pain & fatigue but not pelvic pain. I really think i have cervical cancer & im really scared. I have a doctor appoinment for a pap on the 26th but i usuay get my period at the end of the month so we’ll probably have to reschedule. I just wanted to share my story & wanted to know what you thought or if you have any advice? Thank you

Hey Roxann,
My name is Ali and I am 34 years old. I had one pap smear when I was 16, one when I was 22 before I had my son, and had managed to slither my way out of having any smears done ALL those years inbetween. This involved a lot of changing of my doctors, and a lot of lies, telling them it hadn’t been that long since I had one. I had been molested when I was younger for a long time, and for years avoided pap smears for that reason. In March of this year I FINALLY let my doctor do a smear after not having one for over 10 years. I have been having a lot of health problems which have so far gone undiagnosed, such as a high white cell count and platelet count (going to a hematologist for that), extreme fatigue, lower back and abdominal cramping and pain (especially when I sit for even a short period of time). I have bleeding after intercourse, pain after intercourse, and a LOT of leg “discomfort”…numbness, aches, irregular periods, etc. lately, I have had episodes of pain that starts in my lower abdomen and ribs and then radiates through my whole body and gets worse. So, anyway, my doctor called back with the results of the pap, she said that I had an extreme change in the pap and she wanted me to get a colposcopy. I went out of the country for one week, when i got back, I went to the ER because I had been bleeding for 11 days straight which is very abnormal for me. So, I coughed up the courage and made an appointment. Well, the last 3 appointments I have made since I have been back I have been bleeding and had to cancel. My doctor keeps calling me asking if I have had the colposcopy yet, almost as if she “saw” something when she did the pap 3 months ago and she isn’t telling me. I have never had a doctor repeatedly call me to make sure I had something done. I am a positive person, and I know IF it is cancer I can beat it…and I WILL beat it. I am SO tired of “acting” like I feel okay, pretending not to be tired, and so tired of people treating me like I am a hypochondriac because I always feel yucky. In 2 days I go for the colposcopy, and I am not bleeding, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Thanks for sharing your story. I was just searching the web and found this site randomly. My name is Krysten I am 23 years old and I have been battling with HPV for almost 5 years now. I have had 2 punch biopsies, that’s where they take a small piece of my cervix and examine it for cancer cells. Both times they told me all I had was HPV and not cervical cancer. My last one was about 3 years ago. I went to the doc after having the HPV vaccine and they did another pap smear and said I was fine. I just had another pap smear about a month ago and now this one has come back abnormal. I’m very worried now that it may have turned into cancer. I have been having bleeding in between periods, and vaginal discharge with a foul odor (I have no STDs). At first I thought it was my IUD that was causing these symptoms, so I had it removed. But now that I have read up on cervical cancer symptoms and having an abnormal pap smear I can’t help but worry.

i am a 27 year old mommy of now 4 beautiful babies.last october while pregnant i had a abnormal pap…they did a test and told me i had pre cancer cells and to come back after i had baby.. Baby is now 4 months old.. I made an appt but can not be seen till july.. My tummy always hurts… Like where my cervix are n my lower pelvic area.. My thighs and lower back hurts…im tired all the time abnormal bleeding.. Everything i have read online pretty much says this is not good… Did u have same or similar symptoms? How fast can to go from pre cells to potentially life threatening?
