The HPV Vaccine – Essential before Having Cervical Cancer Symptoms

Cervical Cancer Symptoms and Cervical Cancer have been struck a big blow with the development of the HPV vaccine.  This vaccine that is manufactured under the name of Gardisil protects against four different HPV types that together cause as many as 70% of the Cervical Cancer Symptoms.  This protection against HPV gives women a tool to help prevent Cervical Cancer Symptoms and genital warts that are caused by the four HPV types that the vaccine protects against.  Who should get the HPV vaccine to prevent Cervical Cancer and Cervical Cancer Symptoms?

It is recommended that it be given to girls between the ages of 11 and 12, but can be given to a girl as young as 9.  The reason for this is because it is best to give the vaccine before any sexual activity, because they have not been exposed to any form of HPV.  This early vaccination helps to give maximum protection against any Cervical Cancer Symptoms and/or genital warts that are caused by the four types of HPV that the vaccination protects against.  What if you or your daughter are older than 12?  Can you still get the HPV vaccine to help prevent against Cervical Cancer Symptoms?

The HPV vaccine has been tested on girls and women up to the age of 26.  Even if you are sexually active and older, you can still get the HPV vaccine, but it may not be able to protect you against all four types of HPV.  This is due to the fact that you may have already been exposed to one or more types of HPV and may already be infected.  It does give you some protection, as long as you have not been infected with all four types of HPV.  Studies are being done currently to determine the efficacy of the HPV vaccine for women older than 26, so it may soon be available for women older than 26 as well.

The protection against Cervical Cancer Symptoms is very high with the HPV vaccine.  This HPV vaccine will have a huge effect on the number of women that are diagnosed with Cervical Cancer Symptoms in the future, as well as the number of deaths that are due to Cervical Cancer and Cervical Cancer Symptoms.  The HPV vaccine is sure to change the landscape in the world of Cervical Cancer, Cervical Cancer Symptoms, and genital warts.  Women have needed the HPV vaccine for a long time to help prevent Cervical Cancer Symptoms and this is a good thing for women all over the world.
